I will never forget meeting David Bowie. It was brief, (my real vocal interaction was with Iman) but it was powerful and mystical, mainly because of the soul presence behind his eyes.
He was un recognizable in street clothes at first, but something in me just knew it was HIM. As soon as my eyes met his, I could not be any surer. His eyes, we’re the most magical and unreal I have ever sern. Pure purple and true starlight shone back from his gaze. It was all at once startling, and transformative, like a strange rite of passage. I wish I had been able to eek something out, I stood there, flabbergasted, going through my ritual of ringing a customer out, and Iman, I’m sure seeing my face, swept in with all he grace and elegance of a beautifull dove and said, “oh I just love your jeans!” Of course I blushed and gushed and said thank you. She made kind small talk to with me and David Bowie smiled. Oh thank God, I passed I remember thinking. Then, like a breath of cosmic air they were gone.
David Bowie is SO important to everyone that he has connected to. To anyone who has felt like freak, or queer, or who felt like they didn’t fit in. He redefined those definitions in an age when those things were still taboo. Even after the crazy eccentricities of the 1960’s he pushed further into new territory. He illuminated the pathway for himself and others to redefine glamour, sexuality, rock and roll, and personal and public identity.
Part of David Bowies magic was his clear and un comprised connection to himself. The easy way in which he blasted the crowd away with operetic rock n roll invocations, channeling the gods and goddesses of both ancient times before him, and of the far and distant, unreconizable future to come. He cultivated the personal grace to be able to walk the line of weird without falling, but rising to the the self evolving elegant occasion, decade, after decade. Nothing was ever the same after Bowie. Nor will it be now that he is gone.
He passed away at the age of 69, just after the release of his fresh and vibrantly dark new album Blackstar. The tantric numerology for that age is 6. The meaning of six is related to the arc line or halo. It relates to the the mind as a giant beam, connecting to the Infinite, and making it materialize in the world. It is a number of manifesting thought and idea into reality. It is about projection. This comparison is clear when talking about the ethereal, surreal and alien quality of Bowie and his music. 6 is the materialization of the infinite into the world we know…
The tantric numerology around his death (day and month and year ) is equal to 9. This is the number of mastery. 9 is the number of transforming from an awkward person, into a graceful beauty as a life’s work. 9 is the number of mastery, especially of subtle and intuitive energies like music. Musicians are often 9’s. 9 is the number of taking the unknown and making something beautiful for the world with it. 9 is the number of masterfully creating beauty and grace through music or other means. Certainly a very symbolic number around a death, in a positive way.
Bowies personal numerology is very in depth and parts very personal. Out of respect for his passing I will only pass on a few insights. Just points that those who loved him from afar will feel comforted to know.
His Path and Destiny number were both 3. Everyone has a path and a destiny number in tantric numerology, as well as a karma number, a soul number, and a gift number. These numbers paint a portrait of who you are, and what you are here to do. These numbers reveal your deepest challenges and your brightest gifts. They go a great length to give you valuable insight to parts of your self that you may struggle with or excel at. Knowing this information can go a long way in helping you realize your full potential on this earth.
The Destiny number represents the positive attributes you have been working with in past lifetimes. It reveals what talents you will have the opportunity to work with in this lifetime.
The Path number are the talents you must perfect and practice till you have mastered. This will make you feel like you have completed what you came to this earth to do. It is believed that through connecting with these talents you connect to your divinity.
Now his number for both of these numbers is 3. 3 is the number of Jupiter, or what astrologers consider a very benevolent “lucky” planet, bringing joy and abundance wherever it goes. 3 is the number of the writer. The number of taking the intangible and making it tangible to bring joy to those who experience it. 3 is expansion and gifts that continue to give. 3 has a magnificent magnetic quality to it as well. It is like a huge wave of powerful optimism. Isn’t that what Bowie brought to us? These were his gifts, perhaps cultivated in lifetimes before this one. These were his talents. R.I.P. David Bowie
